Mr Mokoena qualified in 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in podiatric medicine from the University of Johannesburg. After qualifying he was employed by Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg academic hospital (CMJAH). He is currently the senior Podiatrist at CMJAH and is also involved in the training of undergraduate podiatry students. He has also had extensive experience in a large Multidisciplinary clinic that involves the vascular, endocrinology, rheumatology as well as the foot and ankle clinics. Mr Mokoena also practices privately at Clinix Tshepo Themba and Dr SK Matseke memorial hospitals. He was a part-time lecturer for two years at the University of Johannesburg.
He also arranges bi-monthly workshops with various disciplines at CMJAH. Mr Mokoena recently completed his masters’ degree in Diabetes and diabetic foot ulcers through the University of Johannesburg. He also completed an advanced certificate course in Wound Care and management. He aims to further himself as an academic as well as a clinician; he is in the process of enrolling for a PhD with the University of Johannesburg.
