Welcome

The SARAA-24 organising committee is looking forward to welcoming you from 29 February – 3 March 2024 at our biennial national congress. Our theme for 2024’s congress is inspired by the African proverb:

If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.

While individual hard work, diligence and commitment remains an essential part of success, it is our interaction with likewise minds that lifts us upon each other’s shoulders to achieve what we might have thought to be impossible.

For a few days, we will meet among the mountains and vineyards of the Protea Hotel in Stellenbosch, an opportunity to connect with old friends, meet new colleagues and most importantly, share our passion for rheumatology.

The congress provides a platform to showcase South African research, from both experienced but also young rheumatology minds.  National experts as well as international speakers will share their collective expertise and knowledge, while practical aspects of our speciality will be discussed in interactive sessions and hands-on workshops. Parallel sessions will be held involving adult and paediatric rheumatologists as well as allied health professionals.  The congress is the ideal time to network and interact with colleagues, national and invited international faculty as well as our trade partners.
